What is Abortion?

Abortion is when the baby is miscarried or removed from the womb before it is viable (usually this baby starts after 20 weeks).

Miscarriage is a way to terminate pregnant or sometimes it is said that the pregnancy has stopped.

Miscarriage can happen in two ways, the first is that the baby falls by accident and then it is called a miscarriage, the second is that the baby is dropped on purpose and that is called induced abortion.

A fall or a child falling on its own can be caused by disease, injury (trauma), genetics (inheritance) or incompatibility between the mother and the child, the most common cause is different blood types. Sometimes it happens that the baby or the baby dies in the pregnancy and then it is not delivered or it does not come out, it is called a missed miscarriage (meaning it is not known that they died).

Abortion (induced abortion) is affected when there are 4 things:

1. To preserve the life or sanity of the mother.

2. To prevent the completion of pregnancy resulting from rape or sexual intercourse.

3. To prevent a child with a severe disability, mental retardation or genetic abnormality that may result.

4. To prevent social or economic reasons such as a very young girl and the like.

Abortion procedures

There are two types:

1) Abortion using drugs (pills) that cause the pregnancy to end: two drugs or one drug are taken that take 24-48 hours to abort the child.

2) Abortion by surgical procedure.

Abortion can be performed in the first 24 weeks of pregnancy.

There are also some cases where the baby is aborted after 24 weeks if there is a health condition or there is something wrong with the baby's development.

Which of these methods you choose is up to you and each carries its own risks.

After the abortion, you need to rest and do light work, and it may take up to 2 weeks for you to feel back pain, discomfort, or bleeding, and the condition will return to normal.

What can result in abortion?

Abortion is a simple procedure that does not cause any complications, it has less pain and less bleeding than early termination of pregnancy.

Some of the risk factors include:

a. Infection of the vagina or cervix.

b. Bleeding profusely.

c. To come to or stay with some of the child's body.

d. Injury to the cervix and vagina.

If these risks occur, medications including surgery are needed.

If you have an abortion it will not affect your next pregnancy.

If you don't want to get pregnant, you can use birth control pills.
